Terminal Plan

The project plans to build four 100,000-ton container berths and two 70,000-ton container berths, two of which have a water depth of minus 20 meters and the others have a water depth of minus 18 meters. The shoreline is about 2218 meters. Twenty four 24,000-ton container berths with a shoreline of 1960 meters are in the scheme. The terminal has an area of 2,700,000 square meters with a quay length of 1177 meters. The designed annual capacity is 5.7 million TEU. 12# and 13# berths were put into a trial operation on Sept.27th, 2014 and the other berths are planned to put into use in the end of 2015.

Strategic objective of NICT

Overall strategic objective— to integrate and optimize the functions of each port area by accelerating the construction of Nansha port area in a professional way. Forming a well-improved and reasonable pattern with coordinative development to make the transportation of containers, coals, oil, automobiles and food meet the requirements of shipping development.

Nansha strategic objective— promoting the construction and development of Grain and Multi-purpose Terminal, Nansha Phase III, bulk cargo terminal and Nansha Phase IV to form an intensive development pattern in large scale. To improve the collection and distribution system of Nansha port area by speeding up the construction of port railway. Striving for the cooperation with large petrochemical Enterprises to develop petrochemical terminals in Nansha. Striving for favorable conditions to accelerate the planning and construction of cruise terminal.
